The wild balsamroots seen here are typically in full bloom during May to June each year. Dog Mountain Trail is located near Stevenson, Washington of Skamania County, a famous region of the Columbia River Gorge; a short 45 minutes drive from Portland, Oregon. It is popular with locals of the region as it offers a relatively short hike with a rewarding view at the summit. The hike is a loop encompassing roughly 6.9 - 7.4 miles, climbing about 2800 feet to the top of the summit. | Wintry Barn HouseWinter 2012
